It's been a while since I last blogged here, good to be back. That said, I felt that having this song on this blog is a must, although I think most of you probably already heard/watched it.
Bon Jovi's latest albums weren't really a smashing success, but this song is simply superb!

Lynyrd Skynyrd - Simple Man
Isam reminded me of Lynyrd Skynyrd with his latest post with Metallica's 'Tuesday's Gone' cover.
Lynyrd Skynyrd - Simple Man
Come sit beside me, my only son
And listen closely to what I say.
And if you do this
It will help you some sunny day.
Take your time... Don't live too fast,
Troubles will come and they will pass.
Go find a woman and you'll find love,
And don't forget son,
There is someone up above.
(Chorus)
And be a simple kind of man.
Be something you love and understand.
Be a simple kind of man.
Won't you do this for me son,
If you can?
Forget your lust for the rich man's gold
All that you need is in your soul,
And you can do this if you try.
All that I want for you my son,
Is to be satisfied.
(Chorus)
Boy, don't you worry... you'll find yourself.
Follow you heart and nothing else.
And you can do this if you try.
All I want for you my son,
Is to be satisfied.
(Chorus)

Tears of the Dragon
This is the unplugged version of the multi-talented Bruce Dickinson's 'Tears of the Dragon'.
I'm saying he's multi-talented because in addition to being an amazing singer, a guitarist, a drummer and an excellent performer, he's also a commercial pilot, a writer, an international professional in fencing and a BBC reporter!
He composed this song after he quit Iron Maiden in 1993, which he later rejoined in 1999.
I personally liked his songs more when he went solo.
For too long now, there were things I should have said
In the darkness...i was stumbling for the door
To find a reason - to find the time, the place, the hour
Waiting for the winter sun, and the cold light of day
The misty ghosts of childhood fears
The pressure is building, and I cant stay away
I throw myself into the sea
Release the wave, let it wash over me
To face the fear I once believed
The tears of the dragon, for you and for me
Where I was, I had wings that couldnt fly
Where I was, I had tears I couldnt cry
My emotions frozen in an icy lake
I couldnt feel them until the ice began to break
I have no power over this, you know Im afraid
The walls I built are crumbling
The water is moving, Im slipping away...
I throw myself into the sea
Release the wave, let it wash over me
To face the fear I once believed
The tears of the dragon, for you and for me
Slowly I awake, slowly I rise
The walls I built are crumbling
The water is moving, Im slipping away...
I throw (I throw)
Myself (myself)
Into the sea
Release the wave, let it wash over me
To face (to face)
The fear (the fear)
I once believed
The tears of the dragon, for you and for me
I throw (I throw)
Myself (myself)
Into the sea
Release the wave, let it wash over me
To face (to face)
The fear (the fear)
I once believed
The tears of the dragon, for you and for me

Lightning Crashes
I love this song and the worthy cause behind it.
A girl gets killed by a drunk driver. The girl had many of her organs donated and by doing that she enabled others to stay alive. This song, by Live, was dedicated to that girl, Barbara Lewis.
Lightning crashes, a new mother cries
Her placenta falls to the floor
The angel opens her eyes
The confusion sets in
Before the doctor can even close the door
Lightning crashes, an old mother dies
Her intentions fall to the floor
The angel closes her eyes
The confusion that was hers
Belongs now, to the baby down the hall
Oh now feel it comin' back again
Like a rollin' thunder chasing the wind
Forces pullin' from the center of the earth again
I can feel it.
Lightning crashes, a new mother cries
This moment she's been waiting for
The angel opens her eyes
Pale blue colored iris,
Presents the circle
And puts the glory out to hide, hide
PS: I love the scroll frame. Thanks Isam! :-)

The Walk of Life
This song is just amazing! It brings childhood memories every time I listen to it. A classic! An all timer, which can be played anytime, anywhere. And lately I haven't been getting enough of it, please make the song go away! or actually don't ... I'm lovin' it!
Although the video doesn't feature ANY females, yet I think it is one of the most brilliant videos ever! And by the way, it was one of the very few (and I really mean VERY few) songs that the unbelievably strict Saudi TV's English Channel 2 would play back in the 80's, although I'm very sure they deleted the scene at the beginning of the video where the cheerleaders show up.
But anyways, do enjoy, please! :-)
PS: If there's anything I regret about not attending Mark Knopfler's concert in Dubai a couple of years ago, it's this song.
Dire Straits - Walk of Life
Here comes johnny singing oldies, goldies
Be-bop-a-lua, baby what I say
Here comes johnny singing I gotta woman
Down in the tunnels, trying to make it pay
He got the action, he got the motion
Yeah, the boy can play
Dedication devotion
Turning all the night time into the day
He do the song about the sweet lovin woman
He do the song about the knife
He do the walk, he do the walk of life, yeah he do the walk of life
Here comes johnny and he'll tell you the story
Hand me down my walkin shoes
Here come johnny with the power and the glory
Backbeat the talkin blues
He got the action, he got the motion
Yeah, the boy can play
Dedication, devotion
Turning all the night time into the day
He do the song about the sweet loving woman
He do the song about the knife
He do the walk, he do the walk of life
Here comes johnny singing oldies, goldies
Be-bop-a-lula, baby what I say
Here comes johnny singing I gotta woman
Down in the tunnels, trying to make it pay
He got the action, he got the motion
Yeah the boy can play
Decidation devotion
Turning all the night time into the day
And after all the violence and double talk
Theres just a song in the trouble and the strife
You do the walk, you do the walk of life

She's Like the Wind
This is one of my favorite songs that was on the soundtrack of Dirty Dancing with Patrick Swayze, remember him? He's the guy from Ghost with Demi Moore and Whoopi Goldberg.
And by the way, he's the one singing, amazing huh? I think this is his one and only song he ever made. I also like this video from Prison Break.
My favorite line is: I look in the mirror and all I see is a young older man with only a dream.
Patrick Swayze - She's Like the Wind
She's like the wind through my tree
She rides the night next to me
She leads me through moonlight
Only to burn me with the sun
She's taken my heart
But she doesn't know what she's done
Feel her breath on my face
Her body close to me
Can't look in her eyes
She's out of my league
Just a fool to believe
I have anything she needs
She's like the wind
[SOLO]
I look in the mirror and all I see
Is a young older man with only a dream
Am I just fooling myself
That she'll stop the pain
Living without her
I'd go insane
Feel her breath on my face
Her body close to me
Can't look in her eyes
She's out of my league
Just a fool to believe
I have anything she needs
She's like the wind
Feel your breath on my face
Your body close to me
Can't look in your eyes
You're out of my league
Just a fool to believe
(Just a fool to believe)
She's like the wind
(Just a fool to believe)
Just a fool to believe
(She's like the wind)
Just a fool to believe
(Just a fool to believe)
She's like the wind
(Just a fool to believe)
Just a fool to believe
She's like the wind
(Just a fool...)
(She's like the wind)
(She's like the wind)
(Just a fool...)
(She's like the wind)
(Just a fool...)

Deliver Us
This is the intro music of The Prince of Egypt. I just love it!
The Prince of Egypt - Deliver Us
[Egyptian Guards]
Mud...Sand...Water...Straw...Faster!
Mud...And lift...Sand...And Pull
Water...And raise up...Straw...Faster!
[Slaves]
With the sting of the whip on my shoulder
With the salt of my sweat on my brow
Elohim, God on high
Can you hear your people cry:
Help us now
This dark hour...
Deliver us
Hear our call
Deliver us
Lord of all
Remember us, here in this burning sand
Deliver us
There's a land you promised us
Deliver us to the promised land...
[Yocheved]
Yal-di ha-tov veh ha-rach
(My good and tender son)
Al ti-ra veh al tif-chad
(Don't be frightened and don't be scared)
My son, I have nothing I can give
But this chance that you may live
I pray we'll meet again
If He will deliver us
[Slaves]
Deliver us
Hear our prayer
Deliver us
From despair
These years of slavery grow
too cruel to stand
Deliver us
There's a land you promised us
Deliver us
Out of bondage and
Deliver us to the promised land...
[Yocheved]
Hush now, my baby
Be still, love, don't cry
Sleep as you're rocked by the stream
Sleep and remember my last lullaby
So I'll be with you when you dream
River, o river
Flow gently for me
Such precious cargo you bear
Do you know somewhere
he can live free?
River, deliver him there...
[Young Miriam]
Brother, you're safe now
And safe may you stay
For I have a prayer just for you:
Grow, baby brother
Come back someday
Come and deliver us, too...
[Slaves]
Deliver us
Send a shepherd to shepherd us
And deliver us to the promised land
[Yocheved]
Deliver us!

The KING - If I can Dream
This is one of The (pronounced theee) King's best songs, which I only came to discovered recently after an American Idol gig that was recently performed. The song is wonderful and the lyrics are as good. Enjoy!
Elvis Presley - If I can Dream
There must be lights burning brighter ... somewhere
Got to be birds flying higher ... in a sky more blue
If I can dream of a better land
Where all my brothers walk hand in hand
Tell me why, oh why, oh why cant my dream come true?
There must be peace and understanding ... sometime
Strong winds of promise ... that will blow away
All the doubt and fear
If I can dream of a warmer sun
Where hope keeps shining on everyone
Tell me why, oh why, oh why wont that sun appear?
Were lost in a cloud
With too much rain
Were trapped in a world
That's troubled with pain
But as long as a man
Has the strength to dream
He can redeem his soul and fly
Deep in my heart there's a trembling question
Still I am sure that the answer gonna come somehow
Out there in the dark, there's a beckoning candle
And while I can think, while I can talk
While I can stand, while I can walk
While I can dream, please let my dream
Come true, right now
Let it come true right now
Oh yeah
And here's the duet Celine Dion sang with Elvis on American Idol. Not bad if you ask me.

Rodrigo & Gabriela: A MUST-SEE!
There's something terribly wrong with you if you don't fall in love with this instantly! I did, and I couldn't but buy their CD. Check 'em out. Matter of fact: you MUST check 'em out ... and let us know if you like it, there's lots of similar stuff to share.
Rodrigo and Gabriela are a Mexican musical duo who specialize in playing fast, rhythmic acoustic guitars.
So for all our many viewers/listeners who've asked us for something un-Rock-'n-Roll-ish, (it's just one really, Isam) ENJOY!
Here's one of their best pieces:
And yet another wonderful performance:
Diablo Rojo
And this is my favorite!

Nirvana - Where did you sleep last night?
The song 'Where did you sleep last night' played unplugged and sung to the unmistakable voice of Kurt Cobain.
My girl, my girl, don't lie to me,
Tell me where did you sleep last night?
In the pines, in the pines
Where the sun don't ever shine.
I would shiver the whole night through.
My girl, my girl, where will you go?
I'm going where the cold wind blows.
In the pines, in the pines,
Where the sun don't ever shine.
I would shiver the whole night through
Her husband, was a hard working man,
Just about a mile from here.
His head was found in a driving wheel,
But his body never was found.
My girl, my girl, don't lie to me,
Tell me where did you sleep last night.
In the pines, in the pines,
Where the sun don't ever shine.
I would shiver the whole night through.
My girl, my girl, where will you go?
I'm going where the cold wind blows.
In the pines, in the pines,
Where the sun don't ever shine.
I would shiver the whole night through.
My girl, my girl, don't lie to me,
Tell me where did you sleep last night.
In the pines, in the pines,
Where the sun don't ever shine.
I would shiver the whole night through.
My girl, my girl, where will you go?
I'm going where the cold wind blows.
In the pines ... the pines ... sun ... shine
RIP KURT!
